Let’s Run Park Seoul: Course Geometry & Distance Configurations
Located in Gwacheon, Seoul Racecourse features an 1,800m sand oval with an inner and outer chute system. The homestretch measures 400m. The deep 7–8 cm sand cushion demands stamina conservation.
Key Distances & Starting Gate Configurations
1000m & 1200m Sprints (Pocket & Backstretch Starts)
The 1000m launches from a backstretch pocket with approximately 350m to Turn 3. Runners unable to clock sub-13.0s in the first 200m (S1F) get caught wide and absorb devastating kickback.
1400m Middle Distance (Extended Chute Start)
Starts from an extended backstretch chute providing over 500m of straight running before Turn 3. Outside gates have ample time to secure stalking positions without wasting energy.
1800m & 2000m Routes (Grandstand Homestretch Start)
Starting in front of the grandstand with an immediate rush into Turn 1. Outside barriers suffer severe ground loss unless blessed with supreme early foot.
💡 Seoul Handicapping Golden Rule: 4th-Corner Positioning
Across 10,000+ Seoul races, runners positioned in the top 3 turning for home (4th corner) win roughly 68% of races. Overcoming 7+ lengths in the deep sand straight is nearly impossible unless moisture exceeds 15%.
